While searching for "my" Margaret Glass nee Coutts, another emerged who also belonged to the Glass family from Auchabrack.
Margaret Coutts was born on the 18th September 1857. She was the illegitimate daughter of Isabella Coutts then residing at Whitestone in the Parish of Birse. No father's name was given on the birth certificate. There is a notation on the birth certificate dated 17th March 1858 where Margaret's name was changed and she officially became Jane.
Jane Coutts lineage:
Mother: Isabella Coutts was the daughter of George Coutts and Isabel Gordon and was baptised at Leochel Cushnie on the 10th September 1833.
Grandmother: Isabel Gordon born 1790 Crathie & Braemar, daughter of Francis Gordon and Margaret Glass. Isabel died 29th October 1850 at Cordach Kincardine O'Neil
Grandfather: George Coutts died 14 January 1871 at Cordach Kincardine O'Neil aged 95. His parents were given as John Coutts and Mary Smith. To date no birth/baptism entry has been found for George.
A stone was raised to George and Isabel's memory by their son Peter in Kincardine O'Neil Kirkyard.

From the 1861 census, until the time of her death in 1941 Jane Coutts is known as Jeannie (various forms) Glass
Isabella Coutts, mother of Jane (Margaret) married George Barnett (son of James Barnett and Jean Booth, both deceased) on the 29 December 1873 in Aberdeen. "Isalba"'s address is given as Burnside in the Parish of Durris.

George Barnett and Isabella Coutts and residing with them is Jeamima Glass (illegitimate daughter of Isabella born 1857) and two children of Isabella’s brother Peter and his wife, Ann Brebner (now deceased), i.e. Jeamima (Jean) and Christina. (Was the name Jeamima a popular variant of Jean/Jane at this time?)
1891 census residing at Honie Farm Durris.
Isabella Coutts as a widow (George died 2 July 1883) Jeannie Glass, daughter (occupation dressmaker) is still with her, as is her “adopted daughter” Jeannie Bella Barnett.
1901 census residing Ashentilly Cottage, Durris.
Jeannie Glass is now given as head of the house. Jeannie B Barnett (cousin), her mother Isabella Barnett and Edith McHardy (boarder) also residing there
Isabella Barnett nee Coutts died 12 May 1911 at Gloire Cottage, Durmoak. Jeannie Glass is the informant on her mother’s death certificate. Isabella is buried in Durris kirkyard.
Margaret Jane Glass (Jeannie Glass) died at Gloire Cottage Park, Drumoak 29th March 1941 and is buried with her mother in Durris kirkyard. Information on death certificate states that her father was Benjamin Glass. (Benjamin Glass was the brother of James Glass Auchabrack)
