This stone was erected to their memory in 1823 at the joint expense of the
then existing family namely GEORGE PETER ALEXANDER & ANN GREWARS.
ANN GREWAR their daughter died July 1850 aged 78, GEORGE GREWAR died
Whitestones Birse 15 March 1900 aged 81, JESSIE GREWAR died Whitestone,
Birse 19 January 1910 aged 77.
Here is interred the remains of JEAN BIRSS spouse to SHAW CATTANACH in the
Forest of Birse died 28 October 1809 aged 55; son ARCHIBALD died 13 January
1809 aged 16. Said SHAW CATTANACH died 20 April 1842 aged 90; son
ALEXANDER died October 1836 aged 36, his wife JEAN CATTANACH died 16
September 1881 aged 80.
