"Brick walls"

Have you reached that "brick wall" and can go no further with your research?  Then contact me with a short description of who you are looking for and I will post it to this site.

JOHN GLASS (dob unknown) married to Jane COUTTS (1767 Glenmuick - 1858 Deecastle) dau of Alexander Coutts and Margaret Tester. Issue: Charles (c1801) Ann (c1804) Jane (c1807) John (c1808) and possibly others.

On 23 Nov 1879 at North Lodge Ballogie, MARY ANNE AVIS COUTTS married JOHN FARQUHARSON FRASER.

In the 1881 census, John was with his parents at Finzean, but no sign of Mary Anne. The next record is the death of Mary Anne as John's widow on 21 Jan 1936 at North Middleton, Borthwick (Midlothian)

Can anyone fill in any of the gaps and possible family?

MARY ANNE was the twin daughter of DAVID COUTTS and JANE GORDON, born at Balnacraig Aboyne on 1 Oct 1855.

JOHN was the son of JAMES FRASER and BARBARA BEATTIE, baptised

at Finzean on 18 Oct 1852.

James and Barbara were my great-great-grandparents.

Regards,

Ivan Fraser

JANE BEGG spouse to PETER BROWN

On the 6th June 1807 banns were called between Peter Brown in Birse and Jean Begg from the parish of Aboyne.  The 1841 census gives Jean’s age as 60 and the inscription in Glentanar kirkyard states that she died on the 20th June 1841 aged 61.

Who are Jane's parents?

Is she possibly the following from the IGI:  Jean Begg (to William Begg) c. 7 Feb 1783, Aboyne ABD

Stone 73, adjacent to Jane's in the Glentanar kirkyard (Stone 72), reads:

"Erected by John Machray Mains of Drume & his wife Helen Begg in memory of William Begg farmer Waternaldie d. 15 Sep 1832 aged 89, his wife Janet Ross d. 10 Apr 1822 aged 70. Their children Janet, Margaret & Catherine."

Children to William Begg in Aboyne are:

William Begg and Janet Ross m. 23 Feb 1773, Aboyne, ABD

Elizabeth Hogan is researching the Ritchie family at Auchaballa.

Other family connections are the Daniel Middleton and Alexander Mowat.  These families are on the 1841 census residing Larchmore Strachan (District 2 pages 7 and 8).  Also David Duncan residing at Bridge of Dye on the 1841 census for Strachan (District 5 page 1).
